Is the pack really free?
Yes — the pack, the postage to us, and the insured return postage if you decline our offer. There is no circumstance in which we send you a bill.
How is my gold insured in the post?
Every pack travels by Royal Mail Special Delivery, insured up to £2,500 as standard. If your value bracket says you're sending more, we arrange enhanced cover before you post — you'll have it confirmed in writing.
Can I send a photo before I post anything?
Yes — WhatsApp us a photo (or email it to [email protected]) and we'll tell you straight whether it's worth sending. We never price from photos — weight, hallmarks, and testing decide the offer — but we'll happily tell you what you're looking at.
What if I'm not happy with the offer?
Decline it with one click. We return your gold by insured, tracked Special Delivery within one working day, at our cost. No fee, no quibble, no follow-up calls.
How long does payment take?
We pay by BACS the same day you accept — usually within 4 hours. Depending on your bank, the money typically shows the same day.
Do you really pay leading published UK rates?
Our carat-by-carat rates are published above and computed from the live spot price. Compare them with any other published UK buyer before you post — we actively encourage it.
Do I need to send ID?
Gold packs reach the UK anti-money-laundering thresholds more often than silver ones. If your pack's value requires it, we'll ask you to verify ID through a secure link before payment — the same check a bank would do. It protects you as much as us.
What about stones set in my jewellery?
Stones aren't gold, so their estimated weight is deducted — the policy, with photos and examples, is published in full. If you'd rather keep the stones, tell us on the declaration and we'll return them with your offer or remove them for a small stated fee.
What if my items turn out not to be gold?
We test everything free. Plated, rolled-gold, or non-gold items are simply returned with your pack, at no charge — we'll tell you what they are, which is sometimes useful to know anyway.
